Choo-Choo
This weekend was all about trains at our house.
When Jack turned 2, Grandma and Grandpa got him a set of Take Along Thomas trains. Jack played with them, but throwing them around the playroom seemed more fun than rolling them on the tracks! So, we put them away, and saved them...planning to pull them out when he was just a bit older.
The local Barnes and Noble has a GREAT children's play area with a set of Thomas trains on a train table. Every time we go to the mall, Jack begs to go there and play with them. He could spend hours in there.
So, this weekend, Jason got out the Thomas trains. He set up the tracks, various "stations", and train cars on Friday night, and left them on our kitchen table. When we heard Jack wake up and start downstairs, Jason jumped out of bed, opened our bedroom door (which is on the main level), and we listened...
"WOW...what is this? Look at these trains! Daddy, did you see this?" We both giggled as he came in and jumped on our bed to tell us what was in the kitchen.
He's ready. The table would need to be built.
After hours of working on Saturday, several trips for supplies, and a tired Daddy...Jack now has a train table:
Needless to say, this new "toy" provided the only entertainment Jack needed for the weekend. We set it up (temporarily) in our living room so that Jack can learn to play with them, and we can keep Max from throwing them around the playroom! :)
What a great looking table! Yeah for handy husbands, eh? Carey built our kids one for Christmas and they still play with it (and it's still in our living room!)
