Guess What? I Met A Blogging Friend!

On Tuesday evening, one of my blogging friends became a real life friend! Her name is Ginger...and if you've never been to her blog, you're missing out!

After reading each other's blogs for quite a while, our mutual blogging friend, Leigh Ann, informed Ginger and I that we both live in the same city, and less than 15 minutes from one another. We were so excited, and as we got to know more about one another, we knew we just had to meet!

Remember that scene in "You've Got Mail" where Kathleen (Meg Ryan's character) is sitting at the coffee shop waiting to meet Joe Fox (Tom Hanks) for the first time? She has a rose inside a book, and that is how he is supposed to know who she is. She's fidgety and a bit nervous and isn't quite sure what to expect. Well, that's how I felt on Tuesday night as I waited at Starbucks for Ginger. Would she like me? Would I be totally different than I seem on my blog?

But, as soon as she walked in the door and came up to me and gave me a big hug, all of that nervousness immediately went away! We ordered our drinks, and 3 hours of chatting, laughing, and storytelling passed before I even thought to look at my watch.

We talked about our families, our busy lives, and of course, the wonderfully strange and curious world of blogging! We laughed a lot...and I can tell you that Ginger is just as sweet, genuine, and sincere as she comes across on her blog! She has an amazing heart for God, and is full of encouraging words. She loves her three girls, and her husband, and gushed about each of them at every opportunity!

And, you know what, she liked me! :) I'm so glad, because I think the world of her!

So, Ginger...thank you for such a fun evening. I'm already looking forward to next time!

  1. Super fun!!! What did you get? Your snickerdoodle thing? (By the way, I totally got a friend of mine hooked on those just by telling her about them.) You know I need details about the coffee!!

I'm so glad you had fun and now get to be IRL friends, too!! A great pic of both of you, btw!

  4. No, I didn't like you, I loved you! Thanks for not spilling the beans about how I drove right past the coffee shop and forgot where I was going, hehe.

You are an amazing woman and I feel very blessed to have had the chance to meet. How amazing that God allowed this all to come together in His way, ha..blogging, who would have thought!

I think I smiled the whole drive home reflecting on how sweet it was to share our hearts, laugh, and realize that we both love to blog (no kidding.)

  13. So cool! Oh, how fun it would be to meet you all. We couldn't talk fast enough, I'm sure. It's just been awesome getting to know you, but now I've said "cool" and "awesome" both in one comment, so I must stop and go to bed. These are signs of a deteriorating mind.

  14. Wow! Sarah, you are such a social chica! That is great. I met a woman in DC over blogging who had the same fertility trouble as me and I was able to talk to her over the phone. It was so cool to see the world get a little smaller.
