Thursday Thirteen: Jack Speak
Jack. Just saying his name makes me laugh these days!
1. "Mom, can I get a spicy drink?" (spicy drink=Sprite...I actually think that's a great way to describe it!)
2. "Are we going to the blue park or the brown park?" (blue park=blue slide; brown park=dirt)
3. "I'm free." (free=3...it's so much more fun to hear him say that than "I'm 2!")
4. "Can I have some round cookies in the bag?" (round cookies=vanilla wafers; bag=baggie)
5. "Maybe, if I'm a good boy, we can go to Uncle Donald's." (Uncle Donald's=McDonald's. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!)
6. "Daddy, are you gonna put coins in the waterfall and play Foosball today?" (Jason gets asked this question every morning before work.)
7. "Can I snuggle with the baby?" (This involves him laying his head down on my belly and patting it gently. I cherish this so very much right now!)
8. "I think Max is tired. He's ready to go to his bed now." (Translation: I'd like to get out the toys that Max can't play with and you won't let me until he's not around.)
9. "Katherine is a big boy. He went pee-pee on the potty." (This came out on our way home from MOPS on Tuesday. I had NO idea where to even begin with that one, so I just said "Uh-huh!" and we moved on.)
10. "Mommy, can I bake something with you?" (Another one of those special things I love to hear him say!)
11. "Don't be scared. There are no pumas in our house." (He says this about 3 times a week. Still trying to figure it out.)
12. "Max, did you have fun in your class?" (He often asks this to Max in the car on the way home from MOPS or Bible Study. I love to see him caring about his brother...such sweetness!)
13. "Wow, my hands are very baffy!" (Translation: post-bath wrinkly hands)
Don't you just love the way kids express things! Both my boys call Sprite spicy too! Cute.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable is he??? Gosh - give him a squeeze for me next time he says one of those!!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Mitchell used to call Mc'D's "Old McDonald's". :) And he also tells me that Georgia needs to take a nap in her crib almost every time he gets his train tracks out. Smart boys!!
Oh, and any chance that the puma thing might be a Diego reference? Just a thought -- that sort of stuff comes up here from time to time.
Oh mannnnn. This one had me giggling through the whole post. You have one smart cookie, Sarah. Isn't he just the best first born you ask for?
ReplyDeleteSMOOOOCH
Thank goodness the mischivous things they do is counter balanced by the cute little things they say. They bring about so much laughter! Gotta love it!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute. I'm impressed that you remember them all!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so cute - I love my hands are baffy - I can totally relate!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting these up, Sar :) He's such a funny kid. We miss our Jack--give him a big hug and kiss from us!
ReplyDeleteSoooo cute! My favorite was #7! Sweetness!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cutie-pie!
ReplyDeleteI thinks it's so cool that you were Marta! Abigail was Gretl, Collin was Kurt, Autumn was a nun, and Mac was a Herr Zeller!
SWEET! You are going to love having those written down. It is hard to believe that someday we will forget these moments or words.
ReplyDeleteWe have a purple park around here!
What a great post! You shouold print it and put it in a scrapbook or baby book. You'll be so glad to have it later.
ReplyDeleteUncle Donald's, LOL! That's pricelss. These were so cute and such a fun read.
ReplyDeleteI got a great laugh out of that. My Jack is 5 now, and he is constantly trying out new phrases and words, sometimes getting them right, and sometimes not, which is cuter, of course! He still says "firty" for "thirty," and such like. I wish it would stay that way for awhile... it's so precious to me, especially since he's the "baby." Don't you wish you could wear a hidden mic all the time, to catch all the sweet and funny things they say that you could never predict, most of which will be forgotten? I try to write down the "best" ones, but there are many that are just "essence," if you know what I mean... not what is said itself, but how it is said, and in what context, with what face, or what feeling. Thank goodness for video cameras!!!
ReplyDeletethese thirteen are so precious - just like your boys. thanks for sharing these. they always bring a smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love reading how loving and cute Jack is....
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware that you were *related* to Uncle Donald! Maybe you will share some family secrets~
Thanks for the 13!
Those are all so darn cute! I love the things kids say. Those had me laughing.
ReplyDeleteYou know what...my kids say that(that is too spicy) about lots of foods and drinks too.
"Katherine"? That's a mean joke his parents are playing on him.
ReplyDeleteMy daddy says that his fingers are "swiveled" after he's been swimming for a while. Since we've never seen his fingers rotate, we've decided that he thinks "swiveled" means "shriveled."
This was so sweet - what a great memory for you to hold on to! Loved it!
ReplyDeleteHa! Kids are so funny...I like the "baffy" hands.
ReplyDeleteIt is a really good idea to get all these down on paper (or on a blog, I guess!) Someday, when you are having his graduation open house, you can put these in his scrapbook. Precious.
