Baby Bean Buzz: 3 More Weeks
Could it be? Just three more weeks? Oh, wow...
I went to see the doctor yesterday. I wore my not-meant-to-cover-a-baby-belly West Virginia t-shirt because the Mountaineers played in the Fiesta Bowl last night...AND WON!!! WOO HOO!! Anyway, I looked insane, but hey, I'm a true fan. Ok, where was I? Oh yeah, the baby...
Everything looks great with our little bean. I feel good...but I'm tired. We're still on schedule, and Lord willing, 3 weeks from today I'll be holding our baby in my arms! Oh, the feeling of holding my babies for the first time...it's joy in it's purest form.
So, here's a question: When will the nesting begin?
While pregnant with Jack, I had cleaned, set up baby gear, organized and reorganized the 5 neutral colored outfits in the nursery closet over and over, and filled every nook and cranny with diapers and wipes. With Max, he came earlier than planned, but I had washed Jack's baby clothes, set up his room, and had those oh-so-tiny diapers in place. This time, you'd not know a baby was coming to live here unless you tripped over some scattered toddler toys and found the baby's Momma with her bulging belly munching on potato chips on the sofa.
Perhaps all of my "nesting" instincts are being poured into my time with Jack and Max, and that's just all I have energy for? Hmmm...something to ponder.
I have seen God's faithfulness so clearly through this pregnancy. He lovingly brought me through desperate times of terrible all day sickness, a hospital stay away from my boys, and belly bruises. Through all of that, He has given me joy. I have loved being pregnant and have savored and cherished this precious time. I love it when my doubting heart is surprised by God's goodness...and I love that I learn to trust Him more as a result!
So exciting! That time will be here before you know it and I'm sure you'll get the nesting you need in!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the nesting, that baby won't know if his/her room is set up or not, baby will just be focused on you (and you need all the energy you can get!) Excited for you.
ReplyDeleteI had no energy to nest with #3 - I felt the least prepared for baby #3. I think you are focused on the other two and preparing them for the arrival of the new one, spending time with them, etc.. You have all the new bean needs - love !
ReplyDeleteSo exciting - those three weeks are going to go by so very quickly! Enjoy these last few weeks of being pregnant.
Oh, Sarah, this was so sweet. I wish, wish, wish I had enjoyed my pregnancies like that. Mine were sheer misery, just selfish, uncomfortable misery, not the heroic, noble kind. Sigh. But I do love the little babies. My baby is almost 6 now, but I have a new nephew, and hoping for a new niece soon (she's Vietnamese, we're still waiting to meet her!). So, I'll get my fix that way.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing and shocking - there is a whole PERSON in there, waiting to come out!! What a miracle.
oh, i'm so excited for you. these weeks are just going to fly by. i only had two, so i don't know much about nesting for the third. it still may come. enjoy your final weeks of pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteYour posts always make me smile! I do believe the nesting kicked in later with Colin...but it was also just before Christmas and I knew there was a lot to get done.
ReplyDeleteThere's no need to organize anything more than the nursery anyway...just use these last weeks to enjoy the cuties you have and make them feel so important about becoming big brothers.
We cannot wait to meet that baby! And I don't know about you, but I'm dying to know what you're having. I never had the patience to wait the whole pregnancy with my little ones!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I too was slower in things with my 3rd pregnancy. You're right..you're tired & chasing 2 other boys right now & sometimes the last thing you want to do is wash baby clothes! I'm excited & can't wait to hear what you had. I'm thankful that you've enjoyed your pregnancy despite the struggles..it's truly a miracle!
ReplyDeleteAll that nesting jargon is all a myth. Isn't it? :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait either!!! What fun----do you intend to Blog while in labor?
Eeeeek! Three weeks away! We're so excited to meet your daughter, er, baby. :)
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I'm excited for you. I don't think the baby will notice if you don't have diapers set out! Enjoy the last couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the nesting bug. So much gets cleaned. =). I hope all goes well in the next few weeks! You are in very exciting time right now. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWow, three weeks! That is soon! Baby could show up any time, huh?
ReplyDeleteNot sure what to tell you about the nesting, I think I'd be in the same boat if I was about to deliver #3!
"This time, you'd not know a baby was coming to live here unless you tripped over some scattered toddler toys and found the baby's Momma with her bulging belly munching on potato chips on the sofa."
ReplyDeleteYou've just described my house. The only difference is that I'm not expecting a baby.
I didn't "nest" with my third pregnancy. I just took it easy. That's the best medicine.
ReplyDeleteYou need a good book for this waiting time. Have you read any of the "At Home in Mitford" books? If so, she has a new one out and I just read it. It is a wonderful, light hearted story.
I can't believe it is only a few weeks! WOW!
