Time to Simplify

On Friday night, our family headed to Cost*co and devoured a large pizza; half with veggies, and half with pepperoni...cause that's the way we like it!

Then, we filled our cart with easily prepared meals and snacks to keep me from working too much in the kitchen as we await the birth of our little bean.

And, as I closed the door to our newly stocked freezer, I reminded myself, yet again, that sometimes it's really, really good to simplify...even when it's in the kitchen and you love to cook!

  1. That's a great place to stock up. And - when a new baby is coming is a great time to simplify!

  2. We just did the same thing last wekeend with two weeks to go for our new arrival. I'm not a fan of frozen foods, but considering my lack of desire to be in the kitchen, at this point anything frozen or take out sounds marvelous when Tom mentions it!!!! Hope you are feeling well. San

  5. I love your new header - how do you do that???

Love the costco pizza - YUMMY! Even when you love to cook (me too), it is nice to have those easy, ready to go things for when you are tired, having one of those days, or just feeling plain lazy. Good for you! I am glad you were able to get some stocking up done.

Only a few more weeks to go.... :o)

  9. Before the birth of my second, I went on a MAJOR cooking stint. I spent 2 days in the kitchen and loaded my freezer full of meals. It really lasted months after she was born. It was such a blessing.

I can't wait to see pictures of the Little Bean.

  11. It DOES feel good to have a well-stocked pantry, doesn't it? Even if it isn't homemade, at least they won't be hungry while you're busy with Baby Bean. ;) It's only for a little while, after all.
    Simplifying IS good.

  12. It's important to remember that these are just seasons in our lives.

That's humbling for me since I suffer a huge case of pride and thinking and sometimes knowing that I CAN do it all.

Enjoy the simplicity and use the time saved and better served to enjoy time with Jack, Max and the new baby! Whom I can't wait to meet!

  17. Sounds like a fun day. And wow...your little bean is going to be here SOON. Wow.

I was just thinking the other day that you've been pregnant as long as I've 'known' you. Sometimes pregnancies seem to fly by, but it feels like I've 'known' you a long time, too.

Can't wait to meet your new little man!! I'm praying for you and your family, and hope that you're feeling okay!
