Cold Tea and Burnt Toast

Oooh...a free moment.

Place bread in toaster oven. Pour hot, steamy water over tea bag into mug.

20 minutes later.

Ahhh...another free moment.

'Cause when you're a Mommy, sometimes cold tea and burnt toast are the only things on the breakfast menu.

  1. Hope you're surviving the day so far! Does a sliver of double fudge brownie count as a mommy breakfast? I had the choice between brownie and banana and I took the road to the dark side - dark chocolate, that is. LOL! Oh well - I'm in survival mode right now - Dave has the flu. It's been a fun weekend, letmetellyou... *Great Big Sigh* :)

  3. This is kinda funny since I just had to leave the comforts of a hot shower to find out why our smoke alarms were going off. My ADD 17 year old walked away from the toaster that is known not to pop. Oh the lovely aroma of burnt bagels filling the house. The kids are on mid-winter break, like they haven't had their fill of unplanned snow breaks already.
    Smiles!

  4. oh sarah right there with you! I have to laugh at Jenni's comment - sometimes when there is no time - the chocolate chip cookie beckons rather than something healthy. so many times have i started hot chocolate, or something and been interrupted. oh the life of a mommy - wouldn't trade it for anything else.

  5. Well, the cold tea isn't too bad, but burnt toast? I wish I COULD have you over for a meal!

  6. Hoping you get a chance to have some hot tea, soon! If I was closer I'd come over, cuddle that baby and boss your little ones around for awhile so you could have one ;-)

  8. I just strapped mine in the car with a movie and drove to Sonic. I ate my BLT in peace. Sometimes you have to do that!

  9. Why is it that your family photos are popping up on my google side bar? Does this mean that my photos would pop up on your google side bar too?

  11. I'm with ya! Long gone are my days of hot coffee in the morning. Often two hours later I'm still drinking my once hot coffee. I'm having to adapt...cold coffee for me, baby!

  14. Been there, done that---have the 7 kids to prove it! :)

It's a wonderful season! Persevere and relish every minute----it'll soon breeze by. (I'm not on the other side of it yet but I know I'll be sad when I am)

Enjoy the burnt toast----b/c the flipside is that you could have no toast at all!

  15. Oh, Sarah, I read your blog and cried. Sounds crazy, I know. But after reheating my coffee three times today, I just gave up and dumped it down the sink. Thanks for making me smile!
