Week In Review

1. We have had 91.8 inches of snow this winter! INSANE! And, as I look out my window today...what do I see? MORE SNOW!

2. Lincoln got his first ba.th in his baby tub this week. I was previously only sponging him off on his changing table. It was such a heartwarming moment seeing him enjoy his first ba.th so much. I imagine he was thinking something like, "Lord, why? Why did You send me down here to these cruel people?"...

As to not leave you with that pitiful image of our Doodlebug, rest assured he was soon snuggled up in his p.j.'s and enjoying a ride in his swing...

3. Jack helped me make a birthday "cake" for Max. Actually, we didn't make a cake...he's having a party in a few weeks and we'll have cake then. BUT, we did make these Delicious Bars that my friend, Lynn, posted. (Thank you, Lynn. We loved them!) Jack carefully placed each chocolate chip just where he wanted them...

Gotta love the landing strip down the middle...

4. Jack found this little Gloworm in the playroom closet yesterday. This is the closest thing we have to a doll in our house. Let's just say that this little guy doesn't have a chance around here...

5. REMINDER: Today is the last day to sign up for the Cold Tangerines Book Challenge. If you haven't signed up, you can find all the details here. I'll be announcing the winners of the free copies on Monday!

Have a great weekend, y'all!

  5. Jack is so precious - so carefully making the bars perfect! And I loved the picture of Lincoln in the tub too...and your interpretation. LOL!

We need to *FINALLY* get together again! Now that things seem a little calmer... E-mail me and let me know what you're thinking.

  7. That picture of him in the tub is so pathetic. Poor little guy. I'm glad he got to enjoy a ride in the swing after such torture ;-)

  8. This was a really fun post. That picture of Lincoln is hilarious. You captured that baby moment perfectly. And the narration was great, too. It even looks like he's hollering to God, with his arms all stretched out.

This winter has been crazy. We're SO happy that we came back for this doozy. :) My mom loves to tell us how it's 60 and sunny in Colorado. (She loves us so much!)

The Glowbug is funny too. What's that thing it's riding in, though? Some kind of stroller? (Forgive me...I live in the land of girls!)

  9. Wow, is that a picture of your back yard? Beautiful! We here in Colorado are enjoying 60-70degree days right now, but snow is coming on Sunday. That's the great thing, flip flops one day, snow the next!! :-) Your little one is just so precious. Mine is 9months today & boy that time went fast.

  12. Yeah! I am so glad you made the Delicious Bars. Hope you thought they were as yummy as we do. By the way, I loved your comment about all the food you remember from our roommate days. I made a lemon ice cream pie for my parents. I figured if my dad made the trip all the way over here, he at least deserved his favorite dessert. Hmm...perhaps I should post that recipe too.

I would like a little bit more snow here, but not as much as you have had!

Love the first "real" bath picture. We have one with Adeline like that with a VERY red face in all out ugly cry.

    Love you!

  14. So cute! Thank you for stopping by my blog. It was nice meeting you! Your baby has my husband's name... Lincoln. It's not often we hear of another Lincoln. Great name!

I'll be back to visit you... I love your blog! Wow, so cool!
    Love,
Angie from Michigan sick of the snow... I've been wearing my Uggs all day long! :)

  15. ooohhhh, I am so jealous!!! We are getting NO snow here. I cant believe how mild winters have been here. THe kids are dying for just one good, deep snow! I would like one good storm....then for spring to come right after that!
I cant wait to try to make those delicious bars. BTW Sarah, you have such handsome boys....they are turning into little heartbeakers. Cant wait to get my hands on that little cutie pie!!!

  16. Look at the baby... he's so little and tiny, still. Obviously still more comfortable with swaddling and being held - look at that startle reflex going on! Oh, he's so cute.

Isn't it funny how boys are so BOYISH? Landing strips and gloworms on dumptrucks are things my girls would never have conceived of. But Jack - well, that's a natural. :)

    Have fun with 'em -

    Jen
