Party Day
3 Families.
10 Kids.
A Birthday.
A tried and true recipe for the worst carpet stains you've ever seen.
The solution: Head to the land of yellow and red! McDonald's.
Our little family along with Jason's sister and her kids and one of my best friends and her family got together last week at a local McDonald's to celebrate Max's 2nd birthday!
We had never had a birthday party at McDonald's before, but folks, it was AWESOME! It was worth every penny we spent. 1o Happy Meals, cool place settings, a cake, ice cream, a private room, a hostess, and free reign of the play area. And the best part, THEY clean up! That alone made my party planning heart skip a beat!
The Place Settings:
The Birthday Boy:
The Menu: Happy Meals, what else?
The Cake: "For me? Really?"
As the kiddos munched and played, I got to spend time with one of my closest and dearest friends, Johanna. We met in college, and from the moment we started chatting on a late summer picnic bench almost 13 years ago have been secret-telling, share everything, I'm here for you friends! I miss you, Jo!
10 Kids.
A Birthday... ...at McDonald's.
A recipe for Happy Birthday success!

We did a party for our daughter there once. It was a great success too! Glad the kids had fun and you didn't have to clean.
ReplyDeleteThese pics put a smile on my face. We send big wet kisses to Max.
ReplyDeleteAnd isn't life amazing... did you ever imagine that a college friend would be by your side for the mothering years? I love when life surprises us like that.
What fun! And good idea to go to McDs! No clean up!
That was the place of choice back in the 90's when my girls were young. It was the best!
ReplyDeleteGlad to know they still do a good job and the kids can be kids.
OH HOW FUN. Love the pictures, too! Excellent job. It looks like Max had a great time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture of all the kids! And the party looks like fun - I'm sure Max had a blast (along with everyone else).
ReplyDeleteSee you tonight!
i would think most kids would love a mcdonald's birthday party. glad max's turned out so fun. for YOU and the kids.
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend.
We don't have a cool McD's here anymore. They have stripped us of the playland. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?! Ours just look like wannabee nice restaurants.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun and no cleaning!!
Happy Birthday Max!
ReplyDeleteI had a birthday there back in 3rd grade----my mom still has the blowout Ronald McDonald gift they gave me as the birthday girl. That's probably a collector's antique now! :)
Happy Birthday Max! What a fun birthday ;)
ReplyDeleteNo clean up rocks!
Sounds like a smashing success! I learned the "have the party away from home and avoid blue icing in the carpet" lesson several years ago. A valuable lesson at that;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of you and your friend!
Awww... you got to see Johanna?!?!! I'm jealous, but how fun! Happy birthday Max!
ReplyDeletePriceless pictures!!!! Especially the last one of all the kids. That will mean so much to him when he is grown.
ReplyDeleteSusan
Anytime you don't have to clean up the mess is a huge plus for me!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they all had fun.
Looks so fun! We've never done a party there, but now we just might have to think about that one! Happy Birthday to your sweet Max & you look great!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Its been 13 years! I dont believe it....we are getting old, girl..lol;-)! We had so much fun, and thank you for including us in the celebration....Little Max was soooo cute! Of course, like always....it wasnt long enough.
ReplyDeleteLove ya, dear friend.
What a fun party! Landon was standing here and saw the pictures and he said "Oh he got to have a Lightning Queen (as he says it) party!"
ReplyDeleteNo clean up is the best!
Great pictures!
BTW-- Did you just have a baby? Because you're hot stuff, girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to celebrate!!
ReplyDeleteHEY! That shirt and vest look strangely familiar! ;-)
