Little Bit O' Life
1. I am addicted to this:
2. The first little girl I ever babysat got married two weeks ago. I didn't go to her wedding, but I got to see pictures and she was a stunning bride. I suppose it should make me feel old, but it doesn't. It did make my heart hurt a little that she's all grown up. She loved to eat chocolate chip cookies and drink decaf coffee for breakfast; at age 9. I will never forget that about her.
3. Grace vs. Consistency. I feel like I'm trying to balance these two things everyday as I mother my little buddies. I want them to know and see through me God's life-giving grace and how merciful His love is. But, I want to train them up to be men of God who see the great reward of obedience. Sometimes I feel like my heart is on a StairMaster; getting a great workout, but exhausted at the end of the day.
4. So, what are my top ten favorite musicals?

2. Mary Poppins
3. Annie
4. My Fair Lady
5. Singin' In The Rain
6. Grease
7. The Wizard of Oz
8. Funny Girl
9. White Christmas
10. Seven Brides For Seven Brothers
5. I'm reading a book called, "Words Kids Need To Hear". It has hit me right between the eyes and then bonked me on the head. I'll share about it when I'm finished. And, I really think I might finish this book...a rarity for me. And, then I can start the one that you think I've been reading since it's been sitting on my sidebar for a month now.
6. Naps. I love them.
7. Max just realized that he's 2. And, he wants to be sure that I, and all those around us, know that as well. And, I thought he was gonna skip this stage. HA...my mother would surely giggle at that thought.
8. I bought a new pair of Mary Janes online. They feel too big if I'm barefoot, but fit great with socks on. They're supposed to be an all-season shoe. Hmmm...
9. Gas prices. I could cry.
10. So, if gas prices don't send us into bankruptcy, Jack surely will. He is eating us out of house and home. Oh, to have that kind of metabolism.
11. I don't really have anything else to write, but ending on number 10 is just too predictable and organized, and that's just not me. Plus, I already have a list of 10 on here and two lists of 10 on the same post is more tidiness than I can bear. Here's to you number 11.
Fun list. I think you need to check out Guys and Dolls...it may make it to the top of your musicals list. the music is just so catchy.

ReplyDeleteI think my favorite musical is still Les Miserables - I've seen it 3 times in 3 different cities. :)
Becca went through a similar realization recently. The way I answer when people ask how old she is, is to say, "She's two. She's very, very two." LOL
I'll join you in crying about gas prices... :(
I need to get that book from you - or just go buy it myself. I feel like the only words my kids are hearing right now are "No," and "Go sit in time-out."
ReplyDeleteYou have me thinking about what my top ten musicals would be... Quite a few of mine are already on your list, although one that is not is "Hello, Dolly!" LOVE that one, but I think it's nearer to my heart because I was in it in high school.
Hope you got some rest this afternoon. It was great seeing you even if we were both spaced out. LOL.

your list of musicals was fun! i keep waiting for mary poppins or lion king or annie or something to make its way out here to see with the kids. i love musicals - each one i have been to i have loved.

Good list, I enjoyed all 11 and the fact that you did 11! Gas prices are bad but I heard on the news this morning that the town where I live has the lowest prices in West Michigan! I guess tha'ts my silver lining.

ReplyDeleteYou get a whole new appreciation for gas prices when you come here! We are blessed to be able to get gas on base, which is the same price as in the US. Off base, prices are literally TWICE as expensive! Yikes!
My mom STILL says her grocery bill skyrockets when I come home.
The shoes....a serious dilemma!
