The Memorial Day Post That Went Oh-So-Wrong
*This post contains material by a slightly immature set of parents. Continue at your own risk.*
There is one thing I really love about living in our neck of the Midwest. Ok, so there might be a few, but one in particular outshines all the rest:
We live 30 minutes from the beach. [cue Hallelujah Chorus]
I believe that was the line that convinced this East Coast girl that moving out here would not be entirely horrible, and that I could survive 6 months of grey skies and the coldest and snowiest winters EV-AH.
So, to kick off the summer season, we loaded up the van with all the unnecessary gear a family of five needs for the beach, and headed to our favorite spot.
It is slightly heartbreaking, but otherwise very cool to see how Jack and Max have changed and grown over the last year. And yet, they still play together in the same ways. Same sand, same buckets, and same shovels; but, they're SO much bigger. *sigh*
Jack is so independent. And SO tall... (have I ever mentioned that I can wear his socks? He's 3!)
Max...well, let's just say this boy loves his Oatmeal Creme Pies...
We captured video of the boys' favorite beach activity. They are training to be professional sand slingers.
And, each of them made an important discovery. Are you wondering what this is? Max can tell you...
It's a "yucky crayon."
Jack's discovery...well, you just gotta see it for yourself...
In case you didn't catch it, he's pointing out "sea"cocks...known as seagulls to the rest of the world. Alas, Jason kept the video rolling...and caught the two of us, well...rolling. Cause Lord knows we will never view seagulls the same, again.
No, that is certainly not bloggable. Nope. No way.
You did not just post that.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I'm rolling around laughing! That was sooo funny! What a fun (slightly cold?) day at the beach!
ReplyDeleteOh, by the way, "yucky crayons" can also be used to blow bubbles- just ask my neice!!!

ReplyDeleteOh... I'm laughing, I'm smiling, I'm gagging, I'm laughing again... all these emotions at once!
ReplyDeleteTell Jason that my hubby powered through some exhaustion sickness this weekend to work on THREE different beers. I hardly see the man, but I think he found his smile again.
Beermaking: It's cheaper than therapy.
