Tulip Time

This past Saturday, we met up with our friends Dave and Jenni and their three girls and headed to Holland for the Tulip Festival. It was sunny and beautiful outside, and just the perfect day for an outside activity.

All of the kids loved the water fountain. Max was completely soaked when we left, but it was so worth seeing him splashing and laughing...

Jack is always looking for ants; he is ALL boy...

We stopped at a little area off of the main street to rest and play. The boys had fun playing with balloons while I fed and played with Lincoln...

We had lunch at a little deli that had delicious paninis and wraps. We left there very happy...

After lunch, we went to watch the parade. Jack sat on Jason's shoulders and just loved it, pointing out everything and watching in amazement...

I stayed back with Lincoln and Max. Max was happy drinking the rest of my soda (aka "pop" here in the Midwest)...

Ruthie, Anna, Max, and Jack are becoming great friends. It is a lot of fun watching them together...

We were exhausted when we got home, but a good kind of tired...like you know you've just experienced something really special and made great new memories. This was our first year going to this festival, but we'll definitely make it an annual tradition!

  11. Tulips are my favorite! Our tulips are already passed their prime, but they were so pretty.

Jack could have found a ton of ants in our house on Sunday. ARRGGHHH! He would have been in ant heaven!

  14. It's funny, we've lived here forever and only hit the festival a couple of times. Years back many of my friends danced in the "dutch" dances and we always went to see that. I have only seen a parade once.

We took Linds and Beto a couple of years ago and it's was very fun to watch the dancers and eat, eat, eat.

Love the photo of Jason with Jack on his shoulders. Sooooo cute!
