Windy City Weekend

Chicago.

Everyone told us that moving to the Midwest meant that we would get to visit Chicago, which is just a short trip across the lake. SO, in the 2 1/2 years that we have lived here, we've been...er... once. This past weekend!

We will be going back regularly. We are in love with Chicago.

We packed up two minivans full of kids and gear, and headed to the Windy City with our friends, Dave and Jenni, and their three girls. We stayed in two, two-bedroom suites outside of the city, and rode the train in, much to the delight of both Jack and Max.

We ate the most delicious pizza I've ever had at Giordano's, had lunch at the downtown P.F. Chang's (one of my favorite restaurants), went shopping, swimming, and played many late night rounds of we're-so-glad-the-kids-are-finally-sleeping Euchre.

I have so many pictures, so instead of posting them, I made a short video. I think it captures the spirit of our weekend.

We'll be back, Chicago!

  1. Oh, Sar - that's awesome! When ON EARTH did you have time to do that?

Oh my gosh, you are right - we are SO doing that again.

So, I have to take the kids to Costco today. Do you think Anna will be confused? LOL.

  2. I wish I could talk my hubby into going back to Chicago - he's not a 'big city' fan. I love visiting there though.

And can I say that I'm jealous of the fact that you got to play kid-free games of euchre!! :)

  13. It looks like so much fun. You did a great job with that video!
PS - you didn't have to go to Chicago to get that "windy city" feeling. You could have just stayed home!

I was wondering why there are pictures of EVERYONE else in the pool, except you! Sure, you just had a baby...and sure Jenni looks great....BUT...if I were Jenni, we'd have words! LOL!!! ;o)
