The Red Version Of Me Has Squinty Eyes, Too.
I'm typing from my favorite green chair. It's usually a welcoming abode of broken in softness and a procrastinator's dream.
Today, it feels all scratchy and itchy.
WHY? Because I devoured too many Rice Krispie treats in it on Saturday, and Snap, Crackle, and Pop and a few friends jumped ship and keep indenting themselves into my various body parts.
And...
Because I, the wisest of the wise, spent 6 hours at the beach yesterday without wearing any sunscreen.
Dummy. Me. Not you.
So, now I'm sunburned and red faced and when I look in the mirror, my eyes look all squinty 'cause my God-given chubby cheeks are 30% chubbier.
From the sunburn. Not the Rice Krispie Treats. Thankyouverymuch.
So, today, during the daily, mid-morning "trample on Mommy" session that happens at 10:02 'round these parts, I'm toast.
Burnt toast.

ouch! remember when Scott did that up there? funny to look back at it now. we need to make another trip out there.
ReplyDeleteYeeeeooooouuuuuccchhh!
ReplyDeleteMaking you could go outside for a squirt gun battle instead?
Oh, and no pictures? ;P
sorry - "maybe" not "making"
ReplyDeletemust be rice krispies on the brain - thankyouverymuch for mentioning THEM!
Hi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my blog too!
I have a love/hate relationship with rice crispy treats. I LOVE them but I hate that I can't stop eating them until they are all gone.
Oh Sar... I'm sorry! That is such a frustrating thing to experience.
ReplyDeleteI remember burning myself when I was 7 mos. pregnant with Morgan. The next day I had to walk around the house gloobed up in Aloe and Solarcain with very little clothing on. And the blinds shut. I was a red whale. Not pretty.
Ouch, i hate when that happens!!
ReplyDeleteMotrin and some cooling lotion.
What! No picture! Oh yes, it is hard to eat just one, isnt it?
ReplyDeleteI have to wear spf 70 on my face to not burn....Aloe is your best friend today!
ouch! but i think you should have given us pictres =)
ReplyDeletecan i ask... why, oh why, didn't you put on any sunscreen during 6 hours on a beach in the sun? i'm thinking that since you're smarter than that, there's a story there.
Eeek. I know that feeling. Not. fun. Hope you feel better soon and that the kids are kind.
ReplyDeleteI so appreciate your sense of humor on life.
ReplyDeleteSusan
Ouch! I've been there too and hindsight is always better! Hope that burn heals quick.
ReplyDeleteoh sarah - feeling the pain of that sunburn -ouch! hope it heals quickly!
ReplyDeleteDid I ever share with you the sunburn I had in high school? My mom gave me a relaxor pill to help me sleep. It ended up being a different kind of pill and I was up all night ling peeing. The trouble was my buns were so burned I couldn't sit down. Those awful bikinis. OUCH!
ReplyDeleteThis blonde haired, fair friend of yours totally feels for you. I've been sunburned way too many times in my life.
So I guess it got a little worse than it was Sunday night? Hope you're feeling better today!

ReplyDeleteBeen there, done that...TOO MANY TIMES! Ouchies-hope the burn has subsided into a nice tan by now!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've added you to my reader too...Yay for new bloggy friends!
It's so tricky since the sunburn doesn't seem that bad until HOURS later! Oh, Sarah, I'm feelin' for you. Remember spring break in CA when we were BOTH so burned we could barely stand to be touched and we wore baggy jumpers to dinner to avoid the pain of clothes?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your email....there's a lot going on with the house...I'll try to write back soon. love you
You burned? Really? I didn't think it possible...awww, sorry for ya Sar! Hope it fades quickly! Love you!
ReplyDeleteThe worst feeling in the world. OUCH!!
