And, All The White Shoes Said, "Goodbye, Feet."

We just spent a wonderfully full weekend with Jason's parents.

As Max would call them, "Grandpa and Grandpa." For some reason, Grandma is just not part of his vocabulary yet.

They drove all the way from Maryland to spend the weekend with us and we loved every minute of their visit. And, there are pictures. Many, many pictures. I will share them. Soon.

A few hours ago, we bid farewell to "Grandpa and Grandpa", and have been eating the remainder of a pan of Rice Krispie Treats and trying to figure out how the weekend slipped by so quickly.

As did summer.

So, Happy Labor Day.

Goodbye, white shoes.

Goodbye, summer.

  1. I'm so sad to see summer come to an end. At least we are supposed to have good weather all week.

  5. This reminded me of a fav children's book - Goodnight Moon! LOL

I love the seasons and I am always ready for the next one to come.

God made them just the right length for me, that as one ends, I'm ready to move into the next one ... well, except for winter. The only thing that makes it easy to get through is hot chocolate and a skiing trip! :)

  6. You had a fantastic summer! I enjoyed reading all about your adventures, and of course drooling over your wonderful recipes.
It is hard to believe how time goes so fast. I love the fall season, the trees changing colors and wearing jeans and sweaters.

  7. I should stop reading blogs by anyone who doesn't homeschool in a sub-tropical climate like I do -- it's too sad to hear about summer ending, and I have to keep reminding myself it doesn't have to here!

I haven't done nearly enough swimming, going to the park, etc. Fortunately it will be warm here until at least October (though I always hope for cool weather for Halloween).

Look at that big boy on the side bar!! Happy Birthday, Jack!! We love you so much and can't wait to see you in a few months!

Honestly, you're talking about the summer flying by...what happened to the past 4 years?! That kid has grown up so fast :) give him lots of hugs and kisses from us!

  11. Goodbye white jeans that make me look skinny-ish. I will miss you. Please don't shrink while you are in my closet.

    Sarah, your funny!

  12. Sounds like you all had a good time together. Is it just me or did the weather take a dramatic turn towards fall (as I see the cloudy/rainy gloom in all it's 60 degree glory)? Can't wait to hear more about your time with Jason's parents.
