Chaps. He Would NEVER Wear Chaps.
This little diddy hit my inbox and I've seen it around here and yonder, and well - I just had to give it a whirl. It's a little survey about Jason. My sweet and hunky hubby.
So, here goes.
1. He's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen? NFL football, college basketball, How It's Made, CNN.
2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad? Caesar. Always a Caesar.
3. What's one food he doesn't like? Anything even remotely resembling Man.wich.
4. You go out to the bar. What does he order? A beer. Or two. He'll order a microbrew if it's available; but if not, maybe a Sam Adams.
5. Where did he go to high school? A private, Christian school in MD.
6. What size shoe does he wear? 11 1/2. Lincoln could fit inside his shoe when he was born. Yes, I tried it. Lincoln wasn't so happy in there, so there are no pictures.
7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? Cigars. Good cigars. And, he does.
8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? A panini. He always says that any sandwich is better if it's hot.
9. What would he eat every day if he could? Roast beef and mashed potatoes.
10. What is his favorite cereal? Raisin Bran Crunch. He'll only let me buy it for him if it's on sale. Otherwise, he'll eat regular Raisin Bran.
11. What would he never wear? Peg-leg jeans, a cowboy hat, a mullet, chaps - just to name a few on a very long list. But from the list I've just mentioned, he's most assuredly not a cowboy. In any way.
12. What is his favorite sports team? The Baltimore Ravens! WOOT!
13. Who will he vote for? Bono. If he was running. But, he's not. That being said, I would never post his political choice for the upcoming election on this here blog. But, I will say that I admire Jason's independent spirit when it comes to politics. He won't be boxed in. Or labeled. He's just not like that.
14. Who is his best friend? His Blackberry. Me, of course!
15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do? I'm sure there is a long list. But, he is so full of grace for me that he very rarely voices his frustrations with me. I do, however, know that he'd like me to keep on top of the laundry. And, I'm not so good at that.
16. How many states has he lived in? Two. Maryland, and one here in the Midwest.
17. What is his heritage? Jason is a direct descendant of Patrick Henry - which we think is so uber cool; as a result, Jack's middle name is Henry. I also know that he has a rich heritage of strong Christian men who have taught him, loved him, and lived out their faith in ways that greatly impacted him. Both of his grandfathers, and his father were/are examples of Christ to him. He is passing on that same heritage to our boys. I am so proud of the godly man he has become.
18. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake? Chocolate cake with chocolate icing.
19. Did he play sports in high school? Yes. Basketball. When we first met, I would marvel that he could dunk a basketball. It was dreamy.
20. What could he spend hours doing? Playing with the boys, playing golf, cruising the Caribbean, playing golf, kicking my toosh in Scramble, playing golf, brewing beer, playing pop-a-shot in our basement. Oh, and he loves to play golf.
21. Does he belong to any men's organizations? Umm. What is a men's organization? Like the Elks? Anyway, he is a proud, card-carrying member of his Fantasy Football league.
And, that is just a glimpse of this man that I love so much.
This blog might be about me most days. But, my life, my everyday, my memories - they're rich and fun and full of laughter because of Jason. Love you so much, babe.

He can commiserate with Zak about the laundry...LOL! We love you, Jason! You are an awesome brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. There couldn't be a better match for Sarah and we are all thankful for the sense of normalcy and reason that you bring to our....well, not-so-normal family!
