Things I Love: Starbucks Peppermint Syrup
I've got somethin' for you today that you're gonna LOVE!
SO, it's only appropriate that today I participate in Jill's Things I Love Thursday. Jill is in my MOPS group, and I've just started reading her blog - The Diaper Diaries - and I'm so glad I discovered it. 'Cause Jill is hilarious and real and just generally rocks in all manner of bloggy ways.
Today, I'm telling you about one of my new favorite things! And, it comes from Starbucks.
You'd have never guessed that, right? Anyway, moving on.
One chilly night last fall, I asked my favorite Starbucks barista - who happens to know me by name since I practically live at his drive-thru window - if he would sell me a bottle of Peppermint syrup. You know, so I could play barista-girl at home. And, because I love Starbucks Peppermint drinks - especially the hot chocolate.
Well, he cued the Hallelujah Chorus, then told me that I could buy any of Starbucks syrups by the ginormous bottle for $6.95!
Did you get that?
A huge, one liter bottle for $7, y'all. And, you even get the pump!
So, for the last two weeks (courtesy of the Starbucks at Target), I've had a bottle of Starbucks Peppermint syrup sitting on my messy kitchen counter. And, I've been making my favorite hot chocolate recipe and adding two pumps of Peppermint syrup to it. I'm telling you, it's FABULOUS, people. If I hadn't made it myself, I'd think I was driving 'round town or walking through the mall sipping out of a Starbucks cup.
Oh, and here's a little secret: I used to think that I could only get my favorite Peppermint drinks at Starbucks during the holidays. But, Starbucks has Peppermint syrup year-round, so their famed Peppermint mochas/hot chocolate/lattes are available now - and all winter long.
And, because I am a sucker for giveaways, and can't possibly tell you about my new favorite thing without sharing it with you, I'm gonna send one of you a bottle of your own!
Leave a comment. I'll draw a winner tomorrow (Friday) night - 8pm-ish!

You rock!
ReplyDeleteWOO HOO I'M IN!
ReplyDeleteI want it!!
ReplyDelete=)
Yay! What fun! My friend Jessica and I try to make our own Starbuck's drinks. I just emailed her about it a week or two ago. Our favorite one to make at home is coffee, eggnog creamer, whipped cream, and nutmeg sprinkled on top. I know one of her favorites is the peppermint. I'd love to surprise her with a peppermint coffee from home!
ReplyDeleteLove the Peppermint Mochas! Melissa
ReplyDeleteMmmm... I wanna try some!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the new blog to read... and I'm glad you found a home-cure for your addiction.
ReplyDeleteOMG, you know I am totally in because this happens to be my all-time favorite Starbucks drink. Of course, if I don't win, I probably go buy one myself. I know you told me about this last Christmas, but I forgot all about it. YAY!!!
ReplyDeleteOooh, count me in. Brett is a peppermint fanatic (like you, he always gets a shot of it in his Starbucks drinks) and he would go crazy over that.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I read your post to late, I already had my cup of "Joe", and so there wasn’t a need for a Starbucks run. Boo hoo :-( But there's always tomorrow!! I can't wait to try your Peppermint Hot Chocolate recipe! Hey - when I win your giveaway (positive thinking!) and I make your recipe, I can be a barista-girl too. When it's time for me to go back to work, Starbucks is the place for me!!!
Um, yes please! Oh how I love the sweet taste of peppermint mochas!!!! I can smell it now. My sister in law has been buying the vanilla syrup to add to her son's milk so it tastes like the Horizon's organic vanilla milk boxes. I had no idea one of those big bottles were only 7 bucks! Whohoo!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, when will you found out anything regarding your Wed. visit?
I love you and your grande peppermint white hot chocolate in a venti cup (or however that works for you...I forget the size names cause I'm super classy and say things like "the middle size"). HEY! I just got a text from you. I'm texting you back now. :)

WOO-HOO! Totally in... I am a huge fan of peppermint... now that I've entered this fantastic give a way, you know I will have it on my mind all day and night so if I don't win, I'm gonna have to go and buy it myself... seriously... a whole bottle for less than the price of two drinks?!?!
ReplyDeleteI love my MOPS group too!
ReplyDeleteI was just so happy after your last post because Dave and I headed out and got some apples and caramels. I couldn't find the new ones you talked about at Meijers. Where did you find them? We are excited to make our apples, just need some little ones around the add the sprinkles. Maybe we will in honor of your boys :) Apple dumplings are on the list as well.
ReplyDeleteAs for the peppermint syrup, how cool is that?! What a great treat as we head into the cooler weather. Yummy!!!!!

Very cool!! Did not know that!!
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed the contest! Peppermint drinks are my faves at Starbucks as well. Almost as good are the minty alcoholic hot chocolates I make at home. But since I'm preggers I guess I'm going to have to go hunt down my nearest Starbucks instead!
ReplyDeleteHow SWEET (pun intended) of you! I just love your blog! Love the Black Cat cookies too.
