GIVEAWAY: So, You Loved Sawdust City, Huh?

It's such a great store, so of course you liked it!

So, how about another sign giveaway? The good people over at Sawdust City wanted another one of you to win the sign of your choice - or to give away as a gift this Christmas.

And, I think that's just fabulous!

Here's how to win:

1. Flip through your brainy index full of Christmas carols.
2. Leave a comment with your favorite.

I'll leave this one open until Wednesday (tomorrow) night at 5pm EST- so this one's not open for long. And, I'll let the good ol' random thingy choose a winner tomorrow night.

So, name that tune, y'all.

*Comments are now closed. I'll announce the winner later tonight.

  1. I don't really think I should leave a comment yet, because #1 never wins!
Anyway - I'm sticking with my choice from last time which was "Oh Holy Night". Thanks for doing this again!

  3. Hi there! I found your site from the RIMD link :) Loved that hilarious story!! Especially because I can so relate....I was on bedrest for 9 weeks with our third and we had my mother in law clean and do all our laundry the entire time! Nothing like swallowing your pride and having someone else clean the undies :) LOL

Anyways I'm adding your blog to my favorites. I love all the recipes and your sense of humor!

As far as my favorite Christmas Carol....does "Baby it's Cold Outside" count??

  4. Great blog! Tie - O Holy Night and What Child is This? Simply can't decide...

    ReplyDelete
  5. Definitely "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"! I heard Chrissy Hynde from The Pretenders sing it years ago and it's been my favorite ever since!

    Love your site!

  6. I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day by Casting Crowns. Totally changed it up and made it cool.

I've been enjoying your site; my SIL steered me here.

  7. To answer this question today, it has to be The First Noel (or Noelle as I like to spell it in our house...it's her bday today!!)

  14. Hmm, I think my favorite has to be "The Little Drummer Boy."

    Thanks for holding the giveaway:).

  15. "O Holy Night" all the way. Although nothing beats a dark sanctuary with only candle light and an accapella version of Silent Night.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Another give away from Sawdust City ~ how generous and exciting!

My favorite carol would be "Joy To The World".

    ReplyDelete
  17. I love 'joy to the world'. I think it could be sung all year round. Though my favorite Christmas song is "carol of the bells" but it's hard to sing!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I enjoy your blog and have used some of your Christmas cookie recipes. Yum.

I love to listen to Handle's Messiah at Christmas, especial the selection "For Unto Us a Child is Born".

    ReplyDelete
  19. I would have to say the song that has " Mary did you know?"

    ReplyDelete
  20. I, too, definately adore O Holy Night. Especially the Rebecca St. James version from her Christmas album back in the day. But I've also been liking It Came Upon a Midnight Clear lately. Maybe not so much the tune because it sort of sounds like a drinking song from an Irish pub, but the words are amazing!
    Love you friendo!

  21. I think my favorite carol is "Carol of the Bells." However, give me absolutely any Christmas song, sung by Suzy Bogguss, and it will be amazing!!! :-)

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  22. I see my favorite is a favorite here also... O Holy Night.
    Smiles!

  23. silver bells. it was my grandpa's favorite. i think of him getting his wings now that he's in heaven.

    ReplyDelete
  24. "Here With Us" by Joy Williams. And I am going to be buying a sign if I don't win.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well, looks like I'm not the only one who loves it, but my all time favorite is O Holy Night. Dorky, but I love Mariah Carey's version. I also love Carol of the Bells. One time when I was a peanut three girls sang it a capella in church and I seriously thought they were angels!

    ReplyDelete
  26. welp, i would have to say that "O Holy Night" is my favorite of all time, but I heard "I Wonder As I Wander" with new ears this year. Not so much the tune that's cool, but the words are pretty kickin'. so....yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  27. My favorite is Oh Come all ye Faithful. Makes me cry every time!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Just recently found your website. I also came from a RIMD link. Am enjoying your site immensely. My favorite carol is also O Holy Night. I especially love the Josh Groban version.

    ReplyDelete
  29. My favorite is the Caroling of the Bells but it's not like it's a one that you just break out in song to, know what I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yay for Sawdust City!

My favorite Christmas Carol is probably--"O Come, O Come, Emmanuel"

I love the third and fourth verses:

"O come, Thou Wisdom from on high,
and order all things far and nigh
To us the path of knowledge show
And cause us in Your ways to go"

"O come, Desire of nations, bind
All people in one heart and mind
Bid envy, strife and quarrels cease
Fill all the world with heaven's peace"

    Yeah, that's good stuff.

  31. I'd say Silent Night is my fave. I was just singing it a little bit ago.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh Holy Night, baby!! Mariah's version all the way!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. hands down, O Holy Night.

    Great giveaway, Sarah!

  34. Silent Night, and The Christmas Shoes, even thought I cry every time I hear it.

Thanks Sawdust City for another chance to win :-D

    ReplyDelete
  35. O Holy Night used to be my favorite, but I have to say that Silent Night has overtaken it - we've just had too many fun and menaingful things happen over the last year associated with that song. As a matter of fact...Anna is singing it now. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. My all time favorite Christmas Song is Don't Save it All for Christmas Day, by AVALON!!! Love them, love the song!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. so many good ones to choose from!

can i just go with a line from "Away in a Manger?"

    "Be near me Lord Jesus"

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love love LOVE

    O Come O Come Emmanuel

    ReplyDelete
  39. "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" is my hands-down favorite.

So much profound, Biblical truth packed concisely into three short and beautifully poetic verses, and gorgeous music by Mendelssohn.

"Hail the Heaven-born Prince of Peace!
    Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings,
Risen with healing in His wings."

Doesn't get much better than that!! :-)

  40. This is a hard one. I love all of the Christmas carols. My favorite (for now) is the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's Messiah. Our choir just sang that for the final song of the Christmas program, and standing there listening, brought tears to my eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  41. It's "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" because at midnight mass, my sister and I always sing it with our heads thrown back and with our mouths in little "o"s like the gang from Charlie Brown Christmas. Still. In our thirties. Drives my mother absolutely bonkers. Always cracks me up.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think one of the best carols would have to be O Holy Night, we always look forward to hearing this sung in church every year.

  43. How can I pick just one Christmas carol? There are so many good ones. I do especially like "do you see what I see?" (that may not be the exact title).

    ReplyDelete
  44. The Hallelujah Chorus, by far is my favorite! I can just imagine the hosts of angels singing this at His birth! Gives me chills everytime I hear it.

  45. I simply can not choose a favorite Christmas Carol. ALL of them have specific memories tied to them that are, well, all equally wonderful. Sorry. I hope your thingy still chooses me!!! I really need some more Christmas decorations and "Oh Holy Night" was my choice last time and I did not win... =)

    ReplyDelete
  46. This is so hard for me. I love so many. I love that all day, every where I go for weeks I get to hear the Lord's name praised and I can sing right along as I get groceries, go shopping, whatever.

When you really take the time to STOP and listen to the words in Joy to the World and Hark the Harold Angels sing, especially the later stanzas... well, I get goose bumps!

  47. Christmas holds so many fond memories of my mother...and with my family...music was always central to our Christmas celebrations...so to pick a favorite is extremely difficult. So many of them bring such great joy...and sometimes such bittersweet memories. I would have to say though that I love "Oh Holy Night"---I was so thankful to have a December baby last year---made the Christmas season so much more meaningful as I think of Mary's thoughts that first Christmas...such wonder and awe!!!

Thanks, Sarah for yet another fun giveaway...and Sawdust City too!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I keep changing my mind about which is my favorite...I think it would have to be "What Child is This?"

    ReplyDelete
  50. "In the Bleak Mid-Winter". It is a poem by Christina Rossetti that was set to music. It is unspeakably beautiful.

"What can I give him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb. If I were a wise man, I would do my part, but what I can I give him, I will give my heart."

  51. hopefully I'm not too late. My favorite christmas song is "The Hat I got for Christmas is too big"
