The Ultimate Valentine's Day Hot Chocolate Giveaway!
With Valentine's Day coming up this weekend, I thought this would be a great time to tell you about somethin' I simply looooooooooooove!Well. Other than my smokin', hot hubby. Whom I absolutely adore.
But as y'all know, I've got this totally supported by my hubby lest we get all confused here love affair with hot chocolate. I make it every single day. And, my new recipe (thanks to my baby sis!) is the best recipe for hot chocolate I've ever had.
And, I didn't think it could get any better.
Then I made it in the Bialetti Hot Chocolate Maker. And, I am now singing its praises to everyone.
And, clearly, so are a whole lotta others. 'Cause I went to the retailer's website where I purchased it, and found this:
I stumbled upon this product while doing some post-Christmas sale shopping. My hubby was with me and said, "This thing was invented for you."
OH MY STARS, y'all. It most certainly was!
You simply add milk and shaved chocolate, hot chocolate mix (I use World's Best Hot Chocolate recipe), or chocolate syrup to the Bialetti Hot Chocolate Maker and it heats the milk, melts the chocolate, and froths it. All in the turn of a button.
And, in six little itty, bitty minutes.
I've been able to try it out on several friends now, and they all agree: THAT THING IS AWESOME!
But, since this is "The Ultimate Valentine's Day Hot Chocolate Giveaway", there's more! The winner will also receive the Williams-Sonoma Hot Chocolate Pot. This is a simpler version of the Bialetti. Just fill the pot with milk or water, heat it in the microwave and add chocolate syrup, shavings, chips or powdered cocoa. Then set the lid in place, insert the frother and mix to perfection!
And, lastly, because I'm a peppermint freak of sorts, the winner also gets a box of Williams- Sonoma Peppermint North Poles. Even though Santa is probably passed out and in full hibernation mode, these chocolate-dipped poles from his side of town are a GREAT addition to a hot, steamy mug of hot chocolate! Just stir into a mug and enjoy. To sum up all this chocolate lovin', the prize package includes:
The Bialetti H0t Chocolate Maker (Retail value, $100)
The Williams-Sonoma Hot Chocolate Pot (Retail value, $40)
A box of Peppermint North Poles (Retail value, $17)
Here's how to win:
1. Think of your favorite chocolate dessert.
2. Share it in the comments. (if you also wanna share the recipe with us, that'd be great!)
3. The end.
And, if you share that little button at the top of this post on the sidebar of your blog or post the link to this giveaway on your Facebook page or Twitter it, you'll get two extra entries! Just leave me a comment letting me know you shared it as well!
Copy and paste the code below to add the button to your sidebar!
I'll leave this giveaway open until this Sunday, February 15th at 12pm EST. And, I'll let the good ol' random thingy choose a winner that night. I'll announce the winner then.
*Giveaway open to U.S. residents only.*
Happy Valentine's Day!
*Comments are now closed. Thank you for participating. Winner will be announed tonight (Sunday) - 8pm-ish.
That looks awesome!!!

ReplyDelete:( US residents only. BOO. But I dont know if i could pick ONE fave choc dessert. Though I made a pretty bomb oreo cake last week!
ReplyDeleteNow you're talkin'
ReplyDeleteI've never met a chocolate dessert I didn't like, but I suppose my favorites are fudge and truffles.
And yes, you bet I'll stick the button on my sidebar. I want two entries. :-D
Hmmm...how in the world do you choose a favorite chocolate dessert? I have to say that the Southern Living chocolate mint cake I made for Brett for his last birthday was absolutely divine and I'm having a hard time coming up with anything I like better at the moment. There is nothing quite like chocolate and mint together, huh??
ReplyDeleteMB
Count me in on this one! My favorite (and my family's) is Death by Chocolate. Basically, you make up a pan of brownies and 2 boxes of chocolate mousse. You do 2 layers each of brownies, then mousse, then cool whip and heath candy bars or toffee bits. It is so good. If you really like chocolate, you can make it with chocolate cool whip.
ReplyDeleteFYI- I linked you from my blog too.
For everyday: Whole Foods Market's Organic Dark Chocolate Truffles (365 Organic brand). Intense chocolate flavor, insanely creamy texture, perfect amount of dark-chocolate bitterness.
ReplyDeleteFor special occasions/foodies: ANYTHING from Vosges Haut Chocolat. Start with the Exotic Truffle Collection 16pc and a box of Aztex Elixir Couture Cocoa, and branch out from there. Unbelievably tasty flavor combintions and exquisite packaging.

ReplyDeletei really like better than s.ex cake. or chocolate mousse cups from a local bakery.
OK, I so totally want this after having some yesterday. So, my favorite chocolate dessert...oh heavens, Sar, how do I pick just one? I think, one of my favorites would be Arnie's Mackinaw Island Fudge Cake. It's totally store-bought, but it is INCREDIBLE. So, so, so good.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'm putting your button on my sidebar now.
ReplyDeleteAnd one last thing -- loved all the craziness today. I'm completely worn out, but it was very worth it to get to spend time with you all!!!

Yummy!!! i made these for christmas presents this past season. they were such a hit! i will admit, only half of what i made ended up being given away...we ate the rest :)
OH MY GOODNESS!! I LOVE hot chocolate! I know the all caps are obnoxious, but really - hot chocolate is quite possibly one of my favorite things in the entire world. It's even the first thing in my "about me" section on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI love hot chocolate more, but I do love a chocolate mud pie I found online a few years ago - it has an oreo cookie pie crust, pudding, kool whip, evaporated milk, melted baking chocolate, and nuts... rich, but so good too. I only indulge on special occasions and it's so worth it.
http://brands.kraftfoods.com/BakersChocolate/main.aspx?s=recipe&m=recipe/knet_recipe_display&u1=keyword&u2=mud%20pie&u3=**5*5&wf=9&recipe_id=51081
I know this is really generic, but I just love dark chocolate. With a glass of red wine. Oh my goodness, it is heaven!!
ReplyDeleteI retweeted ya :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have a recipe because my favorite chocolate dessert is from Olive Garden. It is the Black Tie Mousse Cake. It is a crushed oreo bottom crust, mini-choco chips outer crust, chocolate mousse, white chocolate cheesecake, milk and white chocolate swirl layer on top slice of deliciousness. I order it to go and eat a bit at home the night I get it, and finish the rest for breakfast. Perfect with a strong cup of coffee.
ReplyDeleteI tweeted the giveaway too.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite chocolate dessert is Pioneer Woman's Best Chocolate Cake ever. I think that was the name! I was told it's basically a Texas Sheet Cake. We made it for my daughter's 1st birthday party this weekend and it was a hit! Some of the adults had 3 pieces!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite chocolate recipe is Shortstops chocolate-chocolate chip cake with chocolate frosting. (Does that sound like I'm trying to butter you up?) Oh Lordy, that cake was GREAT!!!! and I do need the recipe along with the salad dressing recipe. Best salad I've had in ages! Girl, you can cook!
ReplyDeleteThe hot chocolate maker is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. You are right, it makes some out of this world hot chocolate.
Yes, I'll post about this on my blog :)
I love chocolate chip cheesecake! The hot chocolate maker sounds wonderful and I love mint!
ReplyDeleteI'll put your button up on my blog too.
Oh that looks good.
ReplyDeleteI also drink hot chocolate A LOT! Not everyday, but that's only because sometimes I feel guilty. Then it goes away. :)
A good chocolate habit always overcomes the guilt.
My favorite chocolate dessert is an old family recipe that has been handed down for more than a few generations.
It's a cinnamon chocolate cake. Oh my stars is it good! And the smell when it's baking. Oh. My.
It's best right out of the oven with (and this may sound strange) a nice wallop of butter melting on the top. I'm telling you, priceless.
Some of my best memories growing up are centered around my grandma's kitchen and that recipe is sure a part of it!
Good ole fashioned double batch of homemade brownies!! mmmmm....
ReplyDeleteI posted this on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't figure out how to post the button on my sidebar (couldn't figure out where the code was....I'm a little slow today, lack of chocolate.)
I hope this counts!
You & Your blog ROCKS! Please count me in to win the prize!
ReplyDeleteVALENTINE's DAY BROWNIES, er Monday or Saturday...any day brownies. The very best!! If you only use real butter and real chocolate once a year- this is a good way to spend it.
Brownies that will make you slap yo' momma. Preheat oven 350. Prepare 13"x9" pan
4 squares unsweetened Baker's chocolate, melted with
1 and 1/2 sticks of real butter- That is 3/4 Cup- It will take about 3 minutes in the micro wave. stir every minute to check- let cool a bit
2 Cups Sugar
1 healthy tsp. vanilla
3 eggs,lightly beaten
1 Cup Flour
1 Cup chopped nuts (I use pecans because I love them)
Mix the above in order until you no longer see the white of the flour. Do not over mix. Batter will be thick. Spread into prepared pan and bake for about 33 minutes until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Then just get a big ol' glass of milk and bring the pan in the living room with a fork...
If you really want to get nutty, add a half a bag of mini marshmallows (last) in batter and bake as above. serve with vanilla bean ice cream. I think it's crazy to frost these, but it just depends on how you hold your chocolate. I'm afraid frosting would send me over the chocolate edge of no return.
Sorry I don't have the recipe but for my birthday hubby took me to Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine in Austin. Their signature dessert is "Roy's Melting Hot Chocolate Souffle." Seriously amazing!! You can drool at it here....
