Mother's Day 2007. Otherwise Titled: "Po-TA-toes"

This was the last Mother's Day video my husband made me before I started blogging. So, this is the last of the videos that I haven't yet posted.

Which also means we're at the end of this little series of Friday Mother's Day posts. I've had so much fun rewatching these videos every week - thank you for walking down memory lane with me.

There are a few things that come to mind every time I watch this one:

1. Oh, baby Max - how we loved watching you on that horse.

2. Jack - he loved mashed potatoes. Totally our offspring.

3. Life was full and wonderful - but, something, someone is missing. A few weeks later, we found out we were expecting our Lincoln. We were so excited to be adding to our family!

4. Jason's choice of music in this one brings me to tears every time I watch it. "Appalachian Spring" by Aaron Copland and "When You Say Nothing At All" by Alison Krauss are among my most favorite musical pieces. Both of these have special meaning in our marriage, and listening to them alongside pictures of our boys - well, I'm just a big, weepy mess about it.

So, here is the last of my Mother's Day Videos.

Mother's Day 2007.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

  2. Oh my goodness, Max in that horse is hilarious. What's funny is, just as Lincoln looked a little like Jack when Jack was about 6 mos, he looks A LOT like Max when Max was really small. Even Ruthie, who watched part of it with me, kept pointing to Max and saying, "that looks like Lincoln!"

  3. so sweet, they're not even my boys but I could see why you get all teary eyed. Couldn't help noticing your clean floors and house in the pics and you had 2 babes!

  6. I didn't realize how similar Max and Lincoln look. Certain faces he made were so Lincoln, but then other times you could so see Max in him (wow, seeing Max in Max profound).

I love "When You Say Nothing At All" so perfect for a Mothers Day video b/c so often it's those shared glances across the chaotic table that make me truly swoon for my man. Ya know... like when you are all snuggled in bed kids all over the place, and you just reach out your foot and tap him... thinking "Man, this is the good life."

Ok, I am not a sappy, blubbery mess... Thanks for sharing your videsos girlie... I have loved em!

There is nothing so sweet as the smile on Max's face.

Oh, the sagging jeans were priceless, too ;)
