Vermont
We just returned from our week-long extended family vacation in Vermont.
It was a precious and wonderful week away. And, while I would normally post pictures or blog while I'm on vacation, I felt this tug and pull within me to let go. To disconnect from the buzzing of my laptop, the ringtone on my BlackBerry, and really live and soak in the sounds of vacation.
My niece's laughter. I had never really listened to her giggly, girly laugh before. I'm so glad I didn't miss it.
It felt so good to disconnect from life as I know it for a week - letting go of my phone and computer, laundry room, kitchen sink - all of the things that normally occupy my thoughts and energy, and trading them in for lazy, relaxing, and deliciously full days with the ones I love.
Over the next few days, I'll be sharing some of the highlights of our vacation. Vermont is a beautiful state - full of history and the most fantastic mountain views. The scenery is incredible and unique and provided a perfect backdrop for capturing photos of the ones I love.
Since the caffeine in my much too late night cup of coffee is finally wearing off, I'll leave you with just a taste of our vacation - a few photos that jumped out at me as I sat down to upload, download - all that good stuff.
More tomorrow...
