Eight Years

I didn't think it was going to happen to me.

But, I dreamed that maybe, someday, it would.

I saw brokenness in almost every marriage I witnessed up close. I figured that if I did get married, that I'd become unlovable, or mess it up somehow, or that the truest kind of love and happiness was reserved for those who knew God better, prayed harder, and didn't have a messy family, messy bedroom, messy past like mine.

But, it did. It happened. By God's wonderful, matchless grace - it happened.

I fell in love with a Star Wars boy.

He was everything I could've hoped for.

He asked. And, I said, "Yes". A million times "Yes".

And, he married me. Eight years ago today.

Happy Anniversary, to the one who made my dreams come true.
