Isn't She Lovely?

You know that scene in The Karate Kid when Mr. Miyagi presents Daniel with a birthday present - a selection of his old time cars? He looks at Daniel and says, "Choose."

Daniel just stands there in disbelief.

So many colors.
So many styles.
A dream come true.

When my husband and I snuck away together for a couple of days after Christmas, I had my own Daniel moment.

My husband led me by the hand into a store filled with my brand of "cars".

He smiled, and said, "Choose."

I stood there in disbelief.

So many styles.
So many colors.
A dream come true.

I took her for a spin on Sunday. She's everything I thought she'd be.

Trusty.
Beautiful.
(And, heavy as lead.)

The perfect gift for this kitchen-lovin' girl.

You'll be seeing a whole lot of her 'round here.

  7. I don't know if your husband is thoughtful or brave or both. My hubby bought me a waffle iron for my birthday, then when I said I wanted an electric griddle for Christmas - he refused. Couldn't bring himself to buy me a kitchen appliance twice in row!

I would love to try one of those pots sometime, but will admit the weight has me a bit intimidated.

  12. The Perfect Gift from my favorite store? Someday this will be in my kitchen. This is the exact one I looked at a few days before Christmas. Is it the 5.5 qt or the 6.6 qt? Can't remember the size....This is my brand of car too! Jason is awesome.

  17. Apparently Dave and Jason were on the same page. I didn't get to pick the color, but mine is red. And I love her too. My christening dish was veggie chili. (BTW, I'm gonna post that recipe when I get around to it, but I changed it a little from when I emailed it to you). I think White Chicken Chili will be next.
