A 21-Week Update

Oh boy. Time is a flyin'.

Baby and I have made it past the halfway point.

I am so thankful and delighted and OH-SO-SURPRISED to tell you that this has been, BY FAR, my easiest and most enjoyable pregnancy. I feel great, have lots of energy, and besides the fact that I have the complexion of a teenager and have dubbed this pregnancy, "Here Come the Varicose Veins", I am loving being pregnant.

Yes, I am one of those this time around.

You know the ones: the happy pregnant women that smile at strangers who pat on their bellies, gladly slip into maternity clothes and embrace the largeness, and tell everyone who says, "You'll have FOUR? But, it could be another BOY!" that you'd do this ten more times if every pregnancy felt like this.

Pardon me while I step away.

I must go administer CPR to my husband who just realized that when he said, "Basketball team" to me all those years ago when we were dating, he really just meant "Starting lineup".

Anyway, I gotta tell you - amidst the selling, the packing, the move, the craziness of our life over the last several months, this little baby has kept everything in perspective for us. He/she is this tremendous gift that keeps growing right along with our hopes and dreams for our family as we settle into our new life here.

So, I'll just keep applying concealer and wearing capri pants when I feel the need to cover up the vain unpleasantries of this pregnancy.

Because the joy this little one is bringing into my life - even now - makes that stuff seem so very silly.

21 weeks today.

So thankful for our being-so-gentle-on-Momma, growing, little baby.
