Strawberries
We have been thoroughly enjoying our life in the South.
The boys went on their first camping trip.
We've been indulging in our favorite foods.
And, I've been getting back to some baking.
We feel so incredibly blessed to be here.
One of our favorite activities so far was the day I took the boys strawberry picking.
I left Lincoln at home (since he wasn't feeling well), and my sister and I loaded up our buddies and headed to a local strawberry farm.
I loved taking pictures of our boys here. The colors, the fields, the fun they all had. I haven't had this much fun with my camera in quite a while. It's been nice to pick it up, again, since I kind of left it off to the side while we sold our house, packed up, and moved.
Here they are: Jack, Max, Nathan, and Isaac. Each with their own bucket and ready to go.
They picked and ate strawberries right off the vine. They loved this.
Little boys. Crazy little creatures.
Jack rarely stops to do anything. He is all "go, go, go" and has been since the day he was born. I was so surprised when I saw him sitting here in the middle of this patch, all alone, just eating his strawberries. I would love to know what he's thinking here.
My sister snapped a shot of me and our nesting little baby.
I hate having my picture taken. I have no idea why. I'm trying to be better about getting in front of the camera instead of always being behind it.
Sidenote: As I was looking through these pictures, I remembered this photo of me doing some ultra-serious apple picking when I was 6 months pregnant with Lincoln.
And, here is my 6 month pregnant belly with our newest one. I'm carrying a bit smaller this time - I have a feeling we're gonna have another teeny tiny one.
We finished up our strawberry eating picking...
And, headed back to purchase our strawberries.
We picked 4 pounds of red, delicious strawberries. The color and size of these berries was amazing. They were absolutely delicious!
The boys were so proud of our loot.
We came home and made Fresh Strawberry Pie filling and put it on homemade waffles.
What a fun day! I love hangin' out with these little guys.
That looks like so much fun! We don't get strawberries until mid-late June here in Utah. We just had a snow storm this morning!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! The strawberries look so good. (You know they aren't ready yet here!)
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute with your pregnant belly - glad you got some pictures!
That looks so fun! We go apple picking every year, but we've never gone berry picking. The farmers' market berries are delicious, but I bet they'd taste even better if we'd picked them ourselves!
ReplyDeleteTotally inspired...looking for a strawberry patch near us right now! What amazing pictures!!!! I love it!
