Five Recipes: What To Do With Those Fresh Blueberries

Since it's blueberry season (HOLLA!), and blueberry patches are brimming with ripe, ready-to-eat goodness, I thought I'd share some of my favorite recipes for putting those fresh blueberries to use.

These are five recipes that I've made over and over - they're tried and true - and PERFECT for fresh blueberries.

We have BIG plans for some blueberry pickin' in the next couple of weeks. If you ask my boys, they'll take 'em just the way God made 'em. But, we'll be making every one of these recipes, too!

Here are a few of my favorites:

Jumbo Blueberry Sour Cream Muffins. Perfect for breakfast or snacks. Make them as big, coffee-house style muffins in jumbo baking cups, or as regular muffins. Either way, they're wonderfully delicious.

Blueberry Coffee Cake. A traditional, dense coffee cake that's made in a springform pan. It's such a pretty cake - perfect for a brunch!

Clara's Peach Blueberry Cake. My husband actually prefers this cake with fresh blueberries. It's one of the easiest cakes you'll ever make - but, man, is it good.

Blackberry Blueberry Cobbler. A simple cobbler recipe that can be made with any kind of fruit filling. Slowly cook down fresh blueberries on the stovetop with some sugar and lemon juice, and use that as the filling. Delicious!

Blueberry Pancakes. I mean, really. Is there anything better on a weekend mornin' than fresh Blueberry Pancakes. Use my tried-and-true buttermilk pancake recipe and throw in a few handfuls of fresh blueberries. What a way to start the day!
